Vital Energi to deliver CHP to two major London projects
The firm has revealed a new £8 million contract with developer Barratt London at Nine Elms Point, which will see it deliver energy to 645 homes, adding to the 358 households that will be serviced by a CHP energy centre on the capital’s Hendon Waterside development, which is currently under construction.
Both projects are part of major regeneration schemes and will use CHP technology, which involves the capturing of heat created during electricity generation, in order to provide heat and hot water to residents, with the Hendon Waterside project containing a CHP engine, two 3.7m thermal stores, an expansion tanks and two 3,400kW boilers.

The CHP centre at Nine Elms Point, located on the South side of the River Thames, will form part of one of the largest regeneration schemes in Europe, stretching three kilometres and encompassing the building of over 16,000 new homes, while the development of Hendon Waterside, overlooking the Welsh Harp reservoir, will consist of 2,000 one, two and three-bedroom homes.
