Sell solar now in time for summer

Stephen Knight, Commercial Director for Navitron, believes that April and May are the best months to install solar technology.

“With the number of daylight hours increasing from eight in December and January to sixteen during the summer months, solar PV panels can generate nearly 10 times the amount electricity during May June and July than they can in the winter,” comments Stephen Knight.

“The increased solar irradiation during these months allows solar thermal panels to provide a large portion of a home’s hot water in the summer, saving some users up to 30% on their energy bills.

“Also, if customers want to take full advantage of government incentives like the Feed-In Tariff (FiT) and Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), summer’s the time to do so.

“With the FiT allowing consumers to generate income from solar energy produced from PV panels, the opportunity to save even more money by adopting renewable technology increases substantially mid-year. Plus, with the Domestic RHI set to come into effect, homeowners will soon be able to reap the benefits of incentives while significantly lowering hot water bills and reducing carbon emissions.”
