Expertise on hand for public buildings improvement projects

As efforts are made to improve the green credentials of the UK’s public buildings, ELCO Heating Solutions is highlighting its wealth of experience in decarbonisation projects across the healthcare and education sectors, using sustainable technologies such as heat pumps and hybrid systems.

The government recently announced that up to £635m will be made available to help public sector organisations access low-carbon products for heating and energy efficiency, as part of the latest allocation of the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS). The funding will be made available to enable organisations to invest in more sustainable options such as heat pumps, double glazing and insulation for public sector buildings – including schools, hospitals and town halls.

ELCO will be demonstrating the suitability of its product range for public buildings when it exhibits at Healthcare Estates on the 4th and 5th October 2022 at Manchester Central. The company will showcase its highly sustainable commercial heat pumps, low emission condensing boilers and bivalent (hybrid) systems, while UK specification manager Mark Ferris will also be hosting a presentation on decarbonisation in healthcare heating with heat pumps and hybrid systems.

Public sector bodies and taxpayers are expected to save an average of £650m per year on energy bills over the next 15 years through the PSDS. Already, more than 730 grants have been awarded across Phase 1 of the scheme, which is also helping to support around 30,000 green jobs.
