Elemento Electra is an integrated battery-to-grid energy storage system from Trina Storage for utility-scale renewable and storage applications. The solution is AC-coupled, combining the battery system with an AC-side unit that brings together power conversion and medium-voltage step-up functions.
This arrangement supports coordinated performance between DC and AC subsystems and simplifies grid connection. Drawing on Trina Storage’s in-house cell development, system integration and local engineering capability, the platform pairs a long-duration battery cabinet with an integrated AC-side power conversion unit to deliver high-energy density, long lifecycle performance and grid-forming functionality.
The system incorporates a control architecture intended to support operational stability, with fault self-diagnosis, tiered fault protection and islanding detection for use under varying grid conditions. Trina Storage supplies factory-tested and pre-commissioned units to reduce on-site work, with a layout designed to minimise land use and shorten commissioning schedules.
The company provides project support from consultation and design through to installation, operation and maintenance, supported by an AI-based monitoring system for continuous risk warning.
Elementa Electra is undergoing certification for cybersecurity and grid-connection requirements across major markets and is designed for global deployment with long-term service agreements of up to 20 years.
