Managing HVAC and water systems

GRUNDFOS has expanded its Geniecon intelligent control platform to support heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) applications alongside pressure boosting systems. The platform can now be used with the company’s DELTA HCU for HVAC systems.

Geniecon controls multiple pumps operating within a system, adjusting their performance according to demand. For HVAC applications, it can dynamically control parameters including flow, pressure, temperature and temperature differential.

The platform supports integration with building management systems (BMS), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems and other building automation systems, allowing pump data to be incorporated into wider building monitoring.

Remote access enables facilities teams to monitor system operation without being physically present at the installation. Alarms, operating data and system information are also brought together on the platform, helping operators and installers identify deviations and investigate potential faults.

The expanded platform is designed for use in larger and more complex buildings, including hospitals, hotels and commercial premises, where heating, cooling and water demand can vary throughout the day. Bringing HVAC and pressure boosting controls together provides operators with a clearer view of system performance and can help them respond to changing demand.

“Expectations around energy efficiency, reliability and access to performance data are increasing. But greater intelligence shouldn’t mean greater complexity for the people responsible for running them,” says Glynn Williams, senior area sales director.
