Keeping critical environments cool with compact equipment
A collaboration between PANASONIC Heating & Cooling Solutions and Tecnair has seen the introduction of a split cooling system designed for critical environments with cooling demands up to 21kW. The system combines Panasonic’s PACi NX outdoor condensing units with Tecnair’s P Series direct expansion (DX) indoor units. It uses R32 refrigerant, which has a lower global warming potential compared to older alternatives, and is suitable for settings where precise control of temperature and humidity is essential but space and load capacity are limited.
Typical applications include laboratories, small server rooms, museums and archives. The indoor DX unit offers close control over environmental conditions and includes features such as Modbus connectivity, a wide-format graphic display and configurable inputs and outputs. Built-in safety functions are designed to help prevent operational faults before they occur.
The system’s layout allows for installation flexibility, with a maximum distance of 100m between indoor and outdoor units. Compressors are located outdoors to help reduce indoor noise levels. Multiple indoor units (up to 12) can be linked for larger applications. A variety of accessories are available to adapt the system to different requirements.
