Integrated roofing and solar solution for pitched roofs
PowerPanel is the name of a new product from Kingspan that combines roofing insulation and solar power generation in a single system for pitched roofs. The product integrates Kingspan’s QuadCore insulated panels with photovoltaic (PV) technology, offering thermal insulation and electricity generation capabilities.
This system combines the thermal efficiency of Kingspan’s QuadCore insulated panels with advanced solar technology, delivering U-values as low as 0.11 W/m²K and energy output up to 475Wp using lightweight dual-glass monocrystalline PV modules from LONGi, a leader in solar manufacturing.
The fully integrated PV and roofing solution can be applied on roofs with pitches of 4° to 10° in lengths of 2.2m to 15m and a width of 1m. With thicknesses ranging from 76mm to 153mm, and u-values of 0.25 to 0.12W/m2K, respectively, PowerPanel is a lightweight (12.5kg to 14.9kg/m2) fast-install alternative to traditional roof and PV systems.
The product has earned FM Approval to FM 4478 standard, having passed tests for fire resistance, hail impact, wind uplift, and snow loading.
For added assurance, PowerPanel includes a comprehensive Kingspan PowerPanel Assured Warranty, covering thermal and structural performance, external coatings, and photovoltaic modules.
