High capacity energy storage for grid resilience

17 July 2025

MegaMAX is a new line of high-capacity battery energy storage systems (BESS) from ALLYE ENERGY. Comprising two models, MAX1000 and MAX1500, they are designed to address the need for grid balancing and infrastructure resilience. These systems deliver up to 1.5MWh of dispatchable energy and instantaneous grid support.

Both MegaMAX models use the same physical structure but offer different capacities. The MAX1000 provides up to 1 MWh of storage with 840 kilowatts of power, while the MAX1500 increases these figures to 1.5 MWh and 1.25 megawatts. Each unit incorporates three MAX300 modules and includes a liquid-cooled thermal management system to improve performance and longevity.

MegaMAX units integrate advanced AI-driven control systems that enable real-time decision-making and responsive frequency regulation. By acting as grid shock absorbers, they can instantaneously inject or absorb energy to maintain the 50Hz frequency balance that is fundamental to grid stability.

Each MegaMAX unit is a self-contained, modular ‘drop and go’ solution that can be deployed in under two minutes, circumventing the delays often associated with grid upgrades. With 50 to 80% of electrification projects facing severe power constraints, MegaMAX provides an immediate path forward for critical infrastructure, from electric vehicle (EV) charging to ports and industrial electrification. The MegaMAX range functions equally well in stationary grid-tied and off-grid applications.
