Commercial system targets higher on-site solar use

SOLAREDGE has launched a higher capacity commercial storage system. The new CSS-OD 197 kWh solution offers commercial businesses a tightly integrated, high-efficiency solar and storage solution to maximise the economics of solar self-consumption. It is based on a 197 kWh-rated battery cabinet and can be paired with one or two 50kW battery inverters.

The system is designed to support different operating modes for commercial sites, including maximising on-site solar use, reducing peak demand, managing electricity tariffs, and controlling export and import limits. It is also scalable, with configurations reaching up to 1 MW of power and 4 MWh of storage per site. The system includes safety and cyber security features.

“The launch of the higher-capacity battery will help unlock even more opportunities for our partners, primarily for sites which require more storage capacity, as demand for self-consumption in the C&I sector continues to accelerate,” says Naama Ohana, chief commercial & industrial division at SolarEdge. “As markets shift away from net metering, and with emerging opportunities in dynamic tariffs, peak shaving, and grid flexibility, the use cases for commercial storage are expanding and the economics are clear.“
