Free cooling and low-energy systems
Free cooling is a general term used to describe the use of naturally available cooling sources to provide cooling to
building air conditioning systems. Various systems exist and new free cooling technologies are being
implemented continually across the world as part of the search for more carbon-friendly building design
solutions. The implementation of the new part L building regulations will require a closer look at free cooling to
allow designers and operators to meet the required carbon targets.
