Photovoltaic system
There are three fundamental ways in which solar energy can be utilised in buildings. Passive solar heat can be harnessed to reduce heating load. Second, solar thermal collectors can be used to provide hot water, and finally, photovoltaic (PV) energy can be utilised to generate renewable electricity.
