CPD: Behaviour Change

Behaviour Change, Recognition & Reward
Series 22/Module 04

This article focuses on improving ‘Recognition’. Robust data systems are needed to estimate and track energy savings to recognise and celebrate success. Measurement and verification (M&V) of delivered savings can be difficult for behaviour change as savings often take time to build up to levels which can be reliably verified. The challenge is that savings can’t be directly measured; the absence of energy consumption must be calculated by the difference between what would have happened and what actually happened.

Learning objectives include the following:
● create the opportunity for colleagues to generate ideas to cut consumption, carbon and cost
● develop capabilities to estimate savings to recognise actions being taken
● use M&V to provide the confidence required to reward success.
